12/8/10

We searched all day.   As of 5:00 pm there is no Bridget.  At one point Lola (who has been known to find  a sick cat before) was found on the hill in back of the house sitting on a groundhog hole.  She just doesn't do that.  First, climbing the hill is not easy for 4" legs and then you have the fact that it was very cold today.  I didn't even know the hole was there.  I stuck a shovel handle in there and it went deep.  It was a wide hole.  Bridget is a digger.  We were excited that she may be stuck in the hole.  Terry (one of the searchers) stuck her hand in the hole.  Not a smart move if there was a wild animal in that hole Terry!  No Bridget.  It's a mystery.  Maybe Lola knew Bridget chased a groundhog in the hole.  Groundhogs always have a back door.  Bridget would have known that and started chasing.

There is an animal up here called the Fischer Cat.  I'll post a picture.  Crazy beast.  They were imported here to fight the over populated porcupine.  Now there is no natural predator for the Fischer.  Why does man get involved with nature?  Anyway, they are very dangerous and extremely fast.  Let's hope that's not what happened.  Personally, I think Bridget is with some deaf little old lady that hasn't heard two days of whistles and calling.

I'll keep you posted,
Sarah
